I can’t find friends on steam anymore, was it closed down or am I just looking in the wrong place? I find steam works well for download games, it’s the best provider there is and the customer support were very helpful before when I had an issue installing a game.

Ive got steam and ive installed CS source with no problems but,
when i launch the game it crashes and says “platform error, module failed to initialize”. ive got w vista and nvidia Gforce8800 + 3G of ram.
does anybody have any suggestions of how to fix this plz.

ok, so I have deleted all the files mentioned above, but it still won’t work!
do I have to delete the whole steam folder and just live my life withiut all the great games?! I Hate steam!!

friendsui.dll -

I went to steam’s website, they said delete winui.gcf in the SteamApps directory, then delete friendsui.dll, then restart steam.

I tried it. It worked.

deleted the friends folder and the client.blob and it works now for me

half ty:P i delted the file but it didnt work so i searched in steam if there where other places where the file was…after i deleted it 2 times i searched in steem: bin and deleted the same file and then it worked again

C:\Program Files\Steam\friends\\friendsUI.dll

C:\Program Files\Steam\bin\friendsUI.dll

Delete the files that are mentioned above, this should fix the problem.

Just had this error and after deleting these files it causes steam to do a update and workings again after its replaced these files.
