MPAA Files Lawsuits Against Torrent Sites

Posted in Ethics, Online by admin on February 26th, 2006.

The MPAA filed lawsuits against Torrentspy, Isohunt, Torrentbox, Niteshadow and Bthub. This could have a huge impact on the Bittorrent community since Torrentspy and Isohunt are two of the most frequently visited torrent sites.

According to the MPAA, these sites provide illegal access to tens of thousands of copyrighted works, and facilitate millions of illegal downloads. “In the past year, the MPAA has shut down about 75 separate Torrent and eDonkey sites. Last week, they successfully toppled the Razorback2 eDonkey server, which was one of the largest in the world with over 1 million simultaneous users at any given time. The MPAA’s approach is clear: target the front-ends if the backend network is untouchable.” If the MPAA is successful in shutting down Torrentbox, Torrentspy, and Isohunt, it will not only impact users wishing to pirate movies, but also individuals seeking advance music albums, which is a concern that the RIAA should litigate, or even a no-cd patch for a game that they have bought legally.

most artists dont make money from selling cd’s. the record label gets the bulk of it, and the artists get a small percentage. very mainstream artists like britney and christina will make good money from the cd’s because of the sheer volume of their sales (which tells you how much the ******* record labels are making…). but for the more underground artists, which i consider to be more innovative and talented, money is earned from shows. therefore, to all the people who want to make sure to give enough support to their favorite artists, your worries are in vain. if these artists are genuine, then they will make good music/movies regardless of whether or not they are under a major record label. actually, they would surely make better music/movies without the record label.

my response to people who worry that the industry will go down if it is not supported: you need not worry, it certainly will, and this is my hope. out of all the hollywood movies that come out every year, the best ones are the cheapest ones to make, and also the ones that don’t rake in the money. the movies and music that the current entertainment industry is supporting are the results of a quick ******, worthless flakes of dried sperm and **** juice. this industry will go down with the aid of two agents: the industry itself, by churning out the aforementioned, and 2) the people who refuse to support it financially. file sharing is the key to eliminate corporate bloodsuckers, men in suits who sit in their offices and drink and **** their secretaries and drive expensive cars. file sharing does not hurt the artists, it brushes off the leeches.

MPAA show some love please, don’t be too greedy, we already had paid for the ticket to see the god damn film in AMC or whatever, your $29.99 bullsh!t DVD isn’t selling, because 1) its not fuxking full screen, 2) its fuxking $29.99 bullsh!t price tag, do we look stupid? MPAA, ur CEO nigga wannabe making how much a year? i can see that **** from your company’s yearly Qly report, don’t give us no bull!****, “awww bit torrent is destroying copy rights”, you should have said, “awwww bit torrent make us can’t suck money out of the middle class”, thats exactly why we come up with bit torrent, to control and maintain how much fuxking money MPAA should make, its NOT up to MPAA to consider how much they can make, “we” paying for it, so we decide we want to buy it, or d/l preview it then deleted it, we dont need a bullsh!t movie title sitting in our home and watch only once!! OKAY!!! MPAA take this coin and shine it real nice…. then turn it side way, stick it up straight to your CEO/Board of executives’ candy ***!!

I think that any ‘control’ of file sharing is BULL! and here is why…

They say that it infringes on the copyright.. hummm lets see..

We get these file in a ‘digital’ format…

Now let see when I watch a movie for example.. I remember the WHOLE movie in by brain, which some people would a gree is just electrical current (digital images)

So basicially, if I was able to DOWNLOAD my brain after watching a movie… I would have a digital copy of the movie?

So in my opinion what is the difference? music, movies or games?

I see/hear/play it I remember ALL the copyrighted material in my brain in a digital format.. so why not have a hard copy of what is already in my brain copied to a cd or dvd??

This is my reason to D/L these things.. And no one can tell me I can not have a digital copy of what is in my brain!
