Motorola IMfree: Free.
Engaget reports that Motorola’s IMfree wireless AIM handset, which uses the 900 MHz band and allows you to chat with up to six people at a time, is free at Tiger’s Direct after a $40 rebate. The range of the wireless handset is up to 150 feet from an Internet-connected PC and base-station, providing instanteous throughout-the-house access. This product is great because it can free up a computer for others, and everyone gets their work done. The one obvious con is that its LCD screen is inconveniantly not back-lit. Hurry, this offer expires at the end of the month.

OMG mine shot frekin battery acid out the sides of the space button…dam i needed minr surgery but still i think these should be recaled for leaking acid. Also for some reason the screen blacks out and a message says “hold tigh3t” with a 3 instead of an e.
I’m considering getting one of these, but only if it can be hacked to do something useful. I wonder if you can install linux on it.
you really need surgery? so i definetly shouldn’t buy this?
