Have some time to kill? Try GunZ IE!
I just discovered a rather interesting exclusively online multiplayer third-person shooter called “Gunz: International Edition“. When a good friend mentioned it to me last week, I was naturally curious. My first response, as a loyal member of the NRA and a firm defendant of the Second Amendment to the Constitution, was “did you just say guns”? All I had heard was that some online site was offering free guns. My head was racing. What was the website? How much for shipping and handling?

Although I was a bit taken aback when it finally registered that my friend was talking about a game and not a tangible utility for pleasurable discharges, I still took his recommendation to heart and decided to give it a shot (excuse the pun). GunZ, developed in 2003 by Korean-based gamemaker MAIET, weighs in at 132 MB and features Matrix-esque dynamic movements (such as walling climbing, dodging, and various other nifty acrobatics) that will register as a deja vu to any former player of Max Payne. The game is somewhat like an RPG in that you acquire experience and the GunZ currency known as “bounty” by defeating your foes in order to increase your level, which in turn allows you to buy higher level weapons, armor, and equipment. Although it is in a BETA mode, I have experienced no bugs whatsoever with GunZ. The only drawback to this otherwise fantastic freebie is the more than occasional hacker.
