Half Life Cheat Codes
Start Half-Life using hl.exe -dev -toconsole. This will let you access the console using “~” key. To do this, create a shortcut to hl.exe (by right-clicking on hl.exe and selecting Create Shortcut). Then right click on the shortcut, go to Properties and add -dev -toconsole to Target: box so it reads “c:\whatever\hl.exe -dev -toconsole”. Use this shortcut to start Half-Life.
You may have to type “sv_cheats 1” in console first.
The following commands are available in console:
- /GOD – god mode.
- /NOCLIP – walk through walls/fly.
- /MAP xxxx – go to map xxxx. Map names are of the format c#a#, (c1a1, c2a1, etc). We do not recommend using this command as it will serious distract the gameplay. See the map list for names of all levels.
- /NOTARGET – invisible to enemies.
- /GIVE xxxx – give item xxxx. The following items are available:

- ammo_9mmAR
- ammo_9mmbox

i have a problem i purchased half life from steam and the path file will not allow me to change it. It looks like this “C:\Program Files\Steam\Steam.exe” -applaunch 70 and when i try to change it it says invalid path name. now if i take out that applaunch 70 i can put in the console but it still dont come up as anything during game play. does anyone know how to fix this problem?
Plagues – In the Steam software, get to the ‘My Games’ page. Select HL:Source then instead of selecting ‘Launch’ select properties.Go to ‘General’, ‘Set Launch Options’ and type “-dev -toconsole” into the box. Click OK, then Close, then Launch. The game starts with the console up (did for me, anyway) so type “sv_cheat 1″ into the console, then choose from the codes above.

console wont load ingame and even when used before hand cheats wont work any ideas
I seem to have problems trying to run the cheats for Half-Life, I’ve added “-dev -toconsole” and everytime i click ok a msg comes up saying “The name ‘C:\Documents and Settings\Jac\My Documents\-=Games=-\HalfLife\hl.exe -dev -toconsole’ specified in the Target box is not valid. Make sure the path and file name are correct.
I would really appreciate it if someone could tell me what im doing wrong.

I change that too E:\Multimedia\Steam.exe -applaunch -dev -tconsole
duting game play i press the ~ but u see i have a bilingual keyboard so that might be a problem but but i change the setting to english and press ~ where it should be if it were another keybord not bilingual..
but still nothing, I go to steam place, my games and i press hl2 and i go to property then i press set launch options where it sais “this is for advance users…blah”
i put in -applaunch -dev -tconsole nothing happens
then i change to only -dev -tconsole nothing happens
only for both i have abunch of words in the top left corner saying stuf like soundscape: d1trans(something) quiet
and other stuff like
barney thinking for (so many seconds –and the frase ends with ms i guess it means mili seconds) then it goes into parentheisis and stuff.. later if i go into cehckpoint the stuff that appears in top left corner keeps saying stuff!

i dont understand wats going on! i havnt beat the game but ive gotten prety far, computer got virus and i dont want to play everything all over without some spice and that spice is cheats! someone please help me!!

yay! well i didnt have time to say this when i posted the thing above but!! i figured it out, out of all the websites i went to they all had tconsole
but then i saw that this one didnt it said TOconsole with the o so when i started game the console appeared!! yay i havnt put anycodes on it yet but hoepfully soonn! thanks
The suggestions about modifying the target of the shortcut don’t always work, this does though! Right click on the game you want cheats on, and go to ‘properties’ then ’set launch options’ and type this in:
-dxlevel 80 -applaunch -dev -tconsole
This will enable devmode (developer mode) the tconsole (cheat console) and reduce the dx level (direct x level) of the game which should make playing it a lot better. However to enable cheats in the game you MUST type in the cheat console (which will open automatically – but can also be opened using the key left of the number 1 key) ’sv_cheats 1′ this will turn cheats on…

ive searched everywhere and tried everything
but all that comes up is unknown
If you play on a laptop wright -dxlevel 80 -applaunch -dev -toconsole instead, and the console automaticly appear
the sv_cheats 1 wont work for me and i have done evrything
Yeah…What is “advanced users” for steam? It says you have to be that to go to launch options..
