If you see a big, black screen when you start Borderlands (mine was bought via Steam), you’re probably running specs like mine and have recently upgraded your computer:

Windows 7 (win7) x64 bit
Intel i7 processor
ATI 4850 graphics card

Here’s a couple tips that got me going:

• Try adding -w 1024 -h 768 to the startup shortcut. It could be your new/old resolutions don’t match, so force it to a standard one and then change it in-game!
• Right click on the desktop shortcut, go to “compatibility” and pick Win XP SP3. Also check the “run as administrator” box.

Now try again and you should be in business!

Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning (WAR) may be the most highly anticipated MMORPG slated for release this fall.  Despite the chagrin that has surrounded WAR during its shaky 3-year development, WAR has won the acclaim of critics at every stage of production.  Mythic Entertainment recently announced that the North American open beta for WAR will start September 7, 11 days before servers are launched worldwide.

“Players can get into the North American open beta by pre-ordering Warhammer Online from select retail partners. Participants of the North American closed beta will automatically be granted open beta access.”

Throughout history, many unusual events have occured on Black Friday:

In contrast to all the horrors that have plagued the Friday immediately following Thanksgiving Day, contemporary Black Fridays symbolize the point in the year that retailers start making net profits.  Because profits are denoted in accounting by Black, and deficits by Red, it follows that this day be called Black Friday.  With all this having been said, expect to see many different sales ads, like Best Buy, CompUSA, Sears, Target, JCPenney, Walmart, etc., for Black Friday 2007.
