Motorola IMfree: Free.
Engaget reports that Motorola’s IMfree wireless AIM handset, which uses the 900 MHz band and allows you to chat with up to six people at a time, is free at Tiger’s Direct after a $40 rebate. The range of the wireless handset is up to 150 feet from an Internet-connected PC and base-station, providing instanteous throughout-the-house access. This product is great because it can free up a computer for others, and everyone gets their work done. The one obvious con is that its LCD screen is inconveniantly not back-lit. Hurry, this offer expires at the end of the month.
